I’ve come to realize that we may indeed have more power as SEOs with Google Glass than I originally thought.
Today, Google launched XE7 for the Explorer beta version of Glass. Glass now has the capabilities of rendering actual websites for the first time. Glass is showing search results similar to the mobile and desktop versions of Google.com, including title and meta description, but there are limitations and differences due to the screen size and interaction capabilities.
For the last two weeks, the software operating system of Glass, version XE 6, was only showing raw, factual data from Google search results, Google+, Knowledge Graph, Maps, and other trusted Internet properties. If you have an SEM/SEO campaign with us, you already have an optimized G+ account that includes your business’s details, images, and some videos when available.
Google Glass XE7 now allows you to explore a Web page you are on by utilizing the following actions:
- Scroll – Slide your finger forward on the touchpad to scroll down.
- Zoom – Slide two fingers forward or backward to zoom.
- Look around – With two fingers down on the touchpad, move your head around to pan.
- Click – As you look around, you can tap to select anything in the center of the screen.
